2026 National Church Life Survey
Every four years a National Church Life Survey (NCLS) is conducted across the denominations to gather information from our church members. The Lutheran Church has been involved in this survey from the beginning. In our SA-NT District we have historically had an 80% participation rate across our parishes/congregations.
The survey provides excellent information to help congregations in their ministry-mission plans into the future. This is fully funded by the LCANZ and comes at no financial cost to the parish/congregation.
We encourage you to engage in this survey (either again or for the first time). We have registered all parishes in our District with NCLS and ordered your surveys, which will arrive shortly. Instructions about how to complete the surveys will be attached to the pack that you receive. Your pack will also include information on how to complete the surveys online.
The surveys are to be completed by members aged 15 years and older. It should take each member about 20 minutes to complete the survey. Each member is asked to fill in a Survey only once. Please do not worry if your survey pack contains slightly different looking survey forms. Hand them out in the order they were sent to you. A random selection of people throughout all churches will be answering some more customed questions on particular topics.
