Trinity Lutheran Church, Rosedale celebrates 175 years
On Sunday, 4 May 2025, 140 people — men, women, children, a bishop, and pastors past and present — gathered at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rosedale to celebrate 175 years of worship in the Rosenthal community. The gathering of people who had deep connections with the Wendish immigrants who established the Lutheran Church in Rosenthal in 1860, travelled from as far as the Yorke Peninsula and the Riverland to be part of the occasion.
Bishop Andrew Brook reflected on the commitment of those early settlers who sought a safe place to worship. He then encouraged those who belonged to the Rosedale community to consider the opportunities being offered by the development of the Concordia community, just up the road.
The worship celebration covered about 90 minutes and the conversations over lunch lasted another three hours. It was just like a family reunion.
