Blessing of the Seed and Soil Service at Cummins
On Sunday 6 April 2025, the Western Eyre Uniting Church and Cummins Lutheran Church held an ecumenical Blessing of the Seed and Soil service.
The service was kindly hosted by Mark and Tamara Modra at their farm with a beautiful view of the Cummins district. It was well attended by approximately 100 people. Pastor Carl Richter and Reverend Barry Luke led the service with input from various members and children.
Some highlights included a combined worship band of musicians and a presentation of banners made by the XRoads Christian Kids Club to representatives of each of the four churches in Cummins.
An offering of $360 was donated to the Cummins Chaplaincy Fund and School Breakfast Club. A morning tea concluded the service. It was an enjoyable service and a wonderful way to foster community and friendships before our busy seeding season starts.
