Inaugural Board of Lutheran Community Services Endorsed
The District Church Council recently endorsed the inaugural Board of Lutheran Community Services (LCS), another milestone in the merger of Lutheran Community Care (LCC) and Lutheran Disability Services (LDS) into one entity.
The Board members are: Sylvia Andersons, Julie Goodheart, Pastor Geoff Kuchel, Pastor Chris Mann, Samantha Paior, Simon Rodger, Melanie Schmidtke and Kym Wallent. Sylvia Andersons was elected unopposed as Chairperson to lead the Board through the final stages of the merger. The Board membership represents an excellent mix of skill sets, industry experience, and understanding of both LCC and LDS.
The Board is really a ‘Board In Waiting’ until the merged entity (LCS) is legally formed, and will take over the responsibilities of the Steering Committee to lead the final stages of the merger planning and preparation.
The Boards of LCC and LDS, together with the new LCS Board, continue to be optimistic about the future as a merged organisation and for all clients, communities, staff and volunteers.
