Lutheran Women formally dissolve Light Zone
Members of the Light Zone were encouraged by God’s Word and by each other when they met to formally dissolve the Light Zone.
The meeting took place on Wednesday 8th September 2021 at Robertstown Church Hall. Robertstown President Audrey Ruediger welcomed representatives of Fellowships from the Light Zone, along with LWSA/NT President Josie Hunt and Secretary Joan Schiller, and their husbands Bruce Hunt and Pastor Wally Schiller.
Pastor Joshua Muller led with an opening psalm and singing of hymn ‘In You is gladness’, then led devotion based on ‘the healing of Namaan’ with the bible reading read by Helen Wittwer. Pastor Joshua led a prayer for departed members, followed by ‘I heard the voice of Jesus say’ sung for departed member Betty Menzel of Kapunda.
LWSA/NT President Josie Hunt shared the promise of God’s peace from John 14:27 and words of encouragement in light of the Light Zone’s fifty-four years of history coming to a close. She also reflected in a light-hearted way the changes over the years.
Greetings to the Lutheran Women of the Light Zone were extended by Pastor Peter Pfitzner of Robertstown, and Josie Hunt on behalf of the LWSA/NT Executive committee.
Audrey Ruediger presented a short history of the Light Zone since it began in 1967.
The formal dissolution of the Light Zone was moved by Gloria Schutz of Carlsruhe, and seconded by Carolyn Doering of Neales Flat, and carried. The meeting also proposed and carried, the closing of the Light Zone bank account, and the balance be donated to the LWSA/NT Executive committee.
Bruce Hunt and Elaine Leditschke expressed sentiments of encouragement to the members of the Light Zone to continue to serve the Lord. and an enjoyable afternoon tea of fellowship with reminiscing on gatherings in the Light Zone completed the day.
The Robertstown, Neales Flat and Carlsruhe Fellowships continue to meet normally in their enthusiastic groups with bible study, activities, making honey biscuits for Hospital cheer, and supporting LWSA/NT and LWA projects.
