Welcome to September’s Work Health and Safety matters.
This month we again want to focus on getting ready for the summer fire season.
Do you have a bushfire action plan? Even if your church is not in a high-risk fire area you should have and review your bushfire action plan regularly and ensure this is displayed clearly for anyone using your buildings.
Don’t forget to make sure your building evacuation plans are reviewed regularly and updated if required. These should also be displayed in easy to see areas of your church buildings for anyone using your premises.
If you have not yet done so, please organise for gutters to be cleaned, on the church, hall and manse plus any other properties. Clear debris or flammable materials from around properties and make sure your pathways and access roads are clear. Don’t forget to make sure you have access to water supplies and hoses if needed around your properties.
