Special achievement for women’s choir
The Central Australian Aboriginal Women’s Choir won the Special Achievement Award at the 2018 National Indigenous Music Awards in Darwin last month.
It was another highlight for the talented choir this year, following the success of the documentary ‘The Song Keepers’, which tells the story of the choir and their first tour of Germany a few years ago.
The choir also travelled to the United States in June and July, performing shows in New York City and Washington.
The National Indigenous Music Awards is a special celebration of Indigenous music and one of Australia’s most prominent Indigenous music award ceremonies.
