Connected Schools join for annual meeting

12 October 2021

Lutheran education facilities joined forces at the annual Connected Schools Combined Boards Meeting held recently. The event saw representatives from Salisbury Lutheran Kindergarten, St Paul Lutheran School Blair Athol, Golden Grove Lutheran School, Good Shepherd Lutheran School Para Vista and Endeavour College come together to collaborate and learn from one another.

This year’s meeting focused on the new LESNW Strategic Intentions and Jason Fay, Acting Principal at St Paul Lutheran School, says it was a wonderful illustration of the ‘better together’ goal (LSNW Strategic Intentions Goal 2).

“Our meeting allowed five communities with a common foundation to come together and collaborate as we look to the future,” says Jason.

Attendees – including school board members, principals, business managers and pastors – were divided into groups where they could discuss the intentions, with each also being asked to consider the opportunities and challenges for individual sites and Connected Schools as a whole.

Jason cites Ecclesiastes 4:12 – ‘though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken’ – as an indication of the strength of community collaboration.

“As Lutheran sites of learning we care called to witness and share God’s love, and in our role as witnesses we must share this through both our words and our actions,” he says.

“The Strategic Intentions, and meetings such as this one, demonstrate Connected Schools’ commitment to spreading and reflecting the good news of the gospels.”
