Event Brings Joy To Golden Grove Community
Golden Grove Lutheran Church had 1700 people visit its grounds (COVID-safe) for its Community Fete on Sunday, October 18.
Admittedly, only a fraction of those came for worship. However the attraction for others might have been in the free donuts (thanks to Blair Boyer MP), the barbecue, the coffee in Cafe Connect, the jumping castle, the games, the trading tables, the art displays, the baking competition or the raffle.
This raffle had $4000 worth of prizes donated by our sponsors, perhaps to throw a wet sponge at Pastor Greg, or for healing in the Prayer Healing Tent.
The Community Fete is an annual tradition – albeit it only one year old, having started last year in conjunction with the celebration of the opening of Cafe Connect.
This year we were blessed with ideal spring weather and perfect timing around the easing of COVID restrictions.
It was a privilege to be host to our local community and we have already started thinking about next year’s event on 17 October 2021!
