New Executive Director for LCC
Lutheran Community Care welcomed its new Executive Director Rohan Feegrade in September.
Mr Feegrade, who brings to the role expertise from across the not-for-profit, private health, education and community care sectors, succeeds Helen Lockwood, who retired in August after serving LCC for more than 25 years.
Mr Feegrade’s appointment followed a rigorous recruitment campaign, with involvement from the SA-NT District.
An installation service was held at St Paul Lutheran Church, Blair Athol, in November.
Speaking at the installation, SA-NT Bishop David Altus referred to Isaiah 25, where it talks about being a refuge to those in need and a shelter from the storm.
“The people that you will come in contact with every day, on behalf of the church, are people whose lives are less than ideal,” Bishop Altus said.
“But we are going to be there for them as a sign of God’s character and God’s grace in his love for them through agencies such as Lutheran Community Care.”
Also speaking at the service, Mr Feegrade said it was an honour to serve in the role and that he felt truly humbled.
“Our work is so blessed,” he said. “We work with those who are vulnerable within the community and we give them a voice.
“I’m excited about what we can do, all led by the example of the servant leadership of Jesus Christ, and I’ll take that into my leadership.”
Lutheran Community Care Board Chair Simon Rodger described Mr Feegrade as a visionary leader, who will lead LCC into its next exciting phase of growth and opportunity.
“Rohan has a strong sense of social justice and is genuinely passionate about creating opportunities for people who live with disadvantage,” Mr Rodger said.
“He strongly believes in acting ethically to serve those he works with and for. We are very lucky to have him on board.”
