Cleve’s citizens of the year trifecta
There has been much to celebrate in the Cleve Lutheran Parish recently, with three of its members named the 2018 Citizen of the Year in their respective councils.
Jamie Siviour, Julie Magnay and Rex Kobelt were recognised for their outstanding volunteer efforts and contributions to their local communities in January.
Mr Siviour is Elliston District Council’s Citizen of the Year and has been involved with Lock Lutheran Church for many years. He was also recognised for his commitments to various sporting clubs, the Country Fire Service and the Lock Health Centre Advisory Committee.
Mrs Magnay was selected as Franklin Harbour District Council’s Citizen of the Year because of her devotion to volunteering. She is heavily involved with Cowell Lutheran Church, as well as SA Ambulance, the Cowell Area School and the Cowell branch of Sing Australia.
Finally, Mr Kobelt is Cleve Council’s Citizen of the Year. A member at St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Cleve, Mr Kobelt was recognised for his dedication to making his local community a better place and his service to the Cleve Agricultural, Horticultural and Floral Show Society (since 1961).
