LCA welcomes Grace Chinese Church
Grace Lutheran Chinese Church, a new congregation who are worshipping in the Glynde Zion church building, has been admitted into membership as a congregation of the LCANZ. The congregation was given a warm welcome at the recent District Convention of Synod, with delegates giving them a heartfelt standing ovation.
The multi-generational congregation (their youngest member is just eight months old) started worshipping at Glynde in August 2020, with their pastor, Tim Chen, being mentored by LCA pastor Brian Shek. They made the decision to become a congregation in their own right in early 2022, accepting a constitution approved by the District Church Council in March 2023.
Pastor Tim says he has a strong calling to serve the Chinese Christian community.
‘My goal is to follow the Great Commission of Jesus and strive to spread the gospel of the kingdom to the Chinese community in Australia.’
