40 hours of praise & worship at Waikerie
Waikerie Lutheran Parish is planning a 40-hour non-stop praise and worship event and they’re looking for people who feel led to be a part of it. The ‘Name Above All Names’ event will be held on the 5-7 November with slots available for those who are willing to share their gifts in musical performance, or share their testimony.
Event organiser Tanya Lehmann says the event has been ten years in the making, with a vision to glorify God and bless the lives and land of those who participate.
“The event is relatively simple in context, it is a 40-hour nonstop worship event consisting exclusively of songs and hymns of praise, glorification and gratitude to our loving faithful God,” she says.
“There will be interspersed testimonials of his power, love and glory by people who have experienced personal encounters or dramatic divine intervention in their lives.”
Tanya says the event is not about asking anything of God, rather the focus is on sincere praise.
“We believe God is seeking the hearts of the faithful, assembling his church and raising up a remnant. It is not a time for the lukewarm to invest some religious act of praise in an attempt to reap the blessings of heaven, it is a time to stand in faith, submit to the will of the father, praise him and glorify him.”
Tanya describes the event as a ‘come-and-go open house event’, where anyone can attend, praise and participate, be it briefly or as long as they are able. All denominations and age groups are welcome, as are a variety of different musical and performance styles. People are encouraged to camp onsite if they would like to stay overnight. At the conclusion of the event, on Sunday 7th November, a special church service will be held to follow the theme of worship and honour.
It is hoped that the event will be an inspiration around the country and even globally, with the organisers having a vision for a multi-venue, simultaneous coordinated worship event in the future.
