Campers connect at SPIN
In January, 55 young people and 30 leaders gathered at Camp Kedron, Barmera, to explore what it means to be connected to God and connected to each other.
Throughout the week, campers built a stronger relationship with God and discovered that, ultimately, it comes down to the greatest commandment of all: love God and love others.
Campers played various team games, shared meals and participated in worship and prayers. They started each day by worshipping with songs, prayers and teaching, and ended each day with a song, blessing and prayer. They were excited to go through these routines together and we pray that these young people take this home to their families.
The camp was blessed with beautiful weather, which meant campers spent each afternoon outside playing games, running from (inflatable) crocodiles, dodging leaders with water pistols and swimming. They spent evenings both inside and outside with a ’round the world’ quiz, photo hunt and ‘fruits of the spirit’ activities.
Some highlights from campers:
“The food – Thursday night schnitzels were the best!”
“Swimming and getting outside.”
“Worship – new favourite song is Running.”
“Chatting with leaders and hanging out.”
The leadership team had an amazing time with this group of young people and can’t wait to do it again for SPIN Camp 2020.
