CLW focuses on the lion and the lamb
Dozens of young people gathered at Robe for Lower Murray South East Christian Life Week camp in October and learnt about the character and nature of God.
This year’s theme was ‘The Lion and the Lamb’, which focused on how God is both a strong and courageous lion and also a gentle and sacrificial lamb throughout the Bible and in our lives.
Speakers Kim Crawford and Henry Martinez told the camp community how God is an unexpected one. Campers learnt about how God does the unexpected in being both the lion and the lamb at once, how he uses unexpected people like Ruth and Gideon to fulfil his work, how he gives an unexpected gift in Jesus, how he sets an unexpected standard for us to love him and our neighbour and how he will do the unexpected in bringing a new heaven and earth.
Each day consisted of worship times, small group sessions and quiet time reflections that campers both new and experienced loved taking part in. There was also plenty of opportunity for community building. Electives included jam sessions, worship through dance, taking ownership of your faith, prayer walking, baking and girl time. The games were a hit as always with the slimy messy games, strategic night games and also a town run and scavenger hunt around Robe.
A sincere thank you to the wonderful leadership and prayer team that were a part of camp this year. Your servant hearts and genuine investment are greatly appreciated. Thank you also to those in our LMSE CLW community for your prayers, baked goods and donations, and for spreading the word about camp to the youth. A big thank you also goes to the parents for your prayers, trust and support, and of course to the campers for being willing to seek God and grow in your faith.
Next year’s camp will be held at Ankara Campsite, Walker Flat, from September 30 to October 4. Please keep the planning team in your prayers.
