Youth hears the good news on Novo Camp
The annual state-wide Novo Camp for high school students was again held at Cornerstone College, Mount Barker, in April, with the theme of ‘Stand’.
Focusing on how perseverance builds character – which builds hope, Pastor Reid Matthias spoke each day to over 110 year seven to 12 students, as well as 40 leaders and support crew.
Each morning saw a high-energy band lead worship, along with a skit, which helped unpack the morning discussions.
Following Pastor Reid’s message, campers split into year level specific small groups to continue discussing the morning’s content
When campers weren’t worshipping, chatting in small groups, eating delicious food, or occasionally sleeping, there were a wide range of activities taking place.
From protecting an egg and some custard, making glowing goo, knitting a camp blanket, shooting each other with foam arrows and competing for ‘Team Karl’ or ‘Team Nicole’, there was rarely a dull moment on Novo 2018.
Thank you to everyone who helped with the planning and execution of the camp, and for everyone who supported the young people who attended.
Ask any leader why they go on camp and they attest to the value of camping ministry, which is why the ongoing support of camps is crucial to spreading the faith through the young people of South Australia and beyond.
We look forward to returning with an even bigger and better Novo Camp in 2019!
