Installations keep District busy
There have been a number of installations of pastors across the District in the last few months, with several more scheduled in the coming weeks.
The first installation for 2018 was Pastor Joe Kummerow at Lobethal Lutheran Church on January 21. Although this service was held in the middle of a heatwave, more than 200 worshippers turned out for the event.
Pastor Joe joins our District after serving in Auckland, New Zealand, and the congregation prayed for him and his family as they transition to a new home.
“It was a great day of celebration for the Lobethal congregation,” Lobethal’s John Seidel said. “All praise and thanks to God for providing us with a new shepherd.”
The following week, Pastor Nigel Rosenzweig’s installation was held at Concordia Chapel on January 28. Pastor Nigel is serving the Unley congregation, as well as Grow Ministries. A few days later at Concordia, Pastor Dale Gosden was installed as the college’s new pastor in front of staff and students.
Other services that have taken place were for Pastor Stephen Schultz as SA-NT Assistant Bishop for Mission and Pastor Andrew Bettison at Hope Valley on December 17.
In the coming weeks, Pastor Kevin Wood will be installed at Blackwood (February 11) and pastoral graduates Matthew Huckel (Pasadena) and Peter Heintze (Coonalpyn) have service’s scheduled for February 11 and February 18 respectively.
