Funday Sunday another success
Funday Sunday was again blessed by sunshine, as an estimated crowd of over 2000 people – the biggest in the ten-year history of the event – enjoyed free entertainment, food, and drink.
Held at Tanunda Oval in September, the event is hosted by local Barossa churches who come together in mission, so the community can experience God’s love up close.
The event has unified churches in the region, with many willing to lend a hand on the day and make it bigger and better than the year before.
Kicking off the event was the Barossa youth, who organised and led the family celebration service, again to a large audience. A number of attractions were then held throughout the day, including rock climbing, bouncy castles, mini golf and much more.
South Australian Governor, His Excellency Hieu Van Le, was a guest and enjoyed mingling with the crowd. He and Mrs Le were most impressed with the event and often commented on the community spirit and friendliness they both felt.
Funday Sunday has become an annual event not to be missed. If you haven’t been yet, then make sure you look out for next year’s Funday Sunday on 9 September 2018.
